Aaron is Chairman/CEO of Laughlin Associates, a 44-year-old company that has helped over 100,000 entrepreneurs start, grow and profit from their business. This has given Aaron an ideal vantage point to observe common mistakes and successes in businesses from Main Street to America’s largest yacht broker from medical professionals to manufacturers to investors. For over 34 years, his experience founding, acquiring and directing multi-million dollar businesses as well as working as an officer for a publicly traded, multi-national, sets him apart from the crowd as a voice of real world knowledge and authority.

Entrepreneur and Business Leader

Aaron discovered his passion and talent for entrepreneurship early in life. At age 18, he formed a recycling company in Portland, Oregon—before recycling was popular. He grew that business to 5,000 customers before selling it and using the money to become one of the first cellular phone dealers in Portland—a business he built up to include three stores and a large service center, which is still in operation today.

After selling his share in the cell phone company, Aaron became vice president of sales for ITEX, a publicly-traded NASDAQ company with 350 offices around the world. But after three years and great success there, Aaron was ready to return to entrepreneurship. He left the company and formed several small corporate-services businesses before buying Laughlin Associates.

Board Member

Aaron has served as a board or advisory board member for several organizations—including California Women’s Conference, SMART Women International, International Crowd Funding Association, Portland Center Stage, and Integrative Medical Arts Center.

Aaron has been married to his wife, Michelle, since 1987. They live near Portland, Oregon and have five children and two grandchild.

As a fun side project, Aaron has built and sold 10 houses and is an avid horseman.
